Alexander the Great Sarcophagus (Battle Scene) large plaque
This is one of the four panels of the Alexander Sarcophagus, the battle scene showing Macedonians and Persians fighting each other. This is the most beautiful plate of the Alexander Sarcophagus. It shows Alexander the Great on horse wearing his lion's scalp (the first figure), Alexander's closest Companion Hephaestion is also on horse in the middle of the plate, and the Macedonian general Perdiccas (the last figure, also on horse). This ancient sculpture masterpiece is now in the process of being hand-sculpted and for the first time offered to the modern collector of ancient art. We approximate that it will weigh about 170 lbs (77 kg). Although it will be about the same size as our already existing Alexander the Great Sarcophagus Hunt Scene Large Plaque, it may end up becoming heavier because it has contains figures.
