Obverse: Diademed and draped bust of Menander wearing helmet right, ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ  ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ MENANΔPOY.

Menander (Milanda) is the only Hellenistic king celebrated in ancient Indian literature. A noted philosopher, he
was one of the two leading characters of a treatise Milindpanha (Questions of Milinda). This book discusses
fundamental principles of Buddhist philosophy which is narrated in form of a dialogue between King Milinda
and a Buddhist scholar.
