Bronze cold cast sculpture of Edgar Degas: Dancer with Raised Right Foot
For his sculptures as well as for his paintings, Edgar Degas (French, 1834–1917) found a ready
source of inspiration in the ballet dancers of the Paris Opéra. Our reproduction is based on an
original bronze sculpture cast in 1920, one of several versions that explore subtle variations in the
dynamics of a dancer's movement.
