Alexander Mosaic This is a modern reproduction of the famous Alexander Mosaic, the most beautiful mosaic that survived antiquity, made in the same size and technique as the ancient original
Alexander Mosaic
You are looking at a modern reproduction of the famous Alexander Mosaic in the same size as the ancient original. The Alexander Mosaic
found in a house of a wealthy Roman at Pompeii depicting the Battle of Issus between Macedonians and Persians, now at Museo
Archeologico Nazionale at Naples, is the largest and most beautiful mosaic to have survived antiquity. About one million tesserae
compose the mosaic sometimes with as many as thirty tesserae clustered in a square centimeter. The mosaic depicts Alexander the
Great with the Macedonians with their spear to the right and behind the chariot of the Persian king Darius and his bodyguard, crumbling
beneath the pressure. It is believed that the mosaic was created in the 2nd-1st century B.C., and it is thought to be a copy of a famous
painting from Alexandria in Egypt or Pella in Macedonia. We are accepting orders for the new clients. We are proud to offer an exact
reproduction of this masterpiece to interested buyers. This is the first time that such unique offer to own this impressive artwork has been
