The below mosaics were created in the Hellenistic Period, defined by the conquests of Alexander the
Great, ending with the death of Cleopatra VII of Egypt (330-30 B.C).  These mosaics were discovered in
Alexandria in Egypt, Antioch in Syria, Cyprus, the island of Delos, and Bactria.
Dionysus on Leopard
Discovered on the secret island of Delos, where the cult of Apollo was very powerful, this mosaics (ca. 3rd-2nd
century B.C.) recalls the Pella Dionysus on Panther mosaic from the 4th century BC.
