Quantity:
Sterling silver, with polished brass accents. Width 7/16 in. The design of our ring is adapted from an original bracelet crafted during the Middle Kingdom, from the 12th Dynasty (1981–1802 B.C.), and now in the Museum's collection. Most common in the Middle Kingdom, bracelets of this type were based on the ancient belief that protective spells could be bound to the wearer through a knot. The knot motif was used in Egyptian jewelry for centuries.
