Dom Pedro II King of Portugal Commander's Cross Cuff Links
The Commander’s Cross Cufflinks are developed from the Order of Christ cross engraved in the armored breastplate of Dom Pedro II, King of Portugal in the late 17th century. The original armor is decorated with broad gilt bands elaborately engraved with panoplies of arms, foliate ornament, and the king’s crowned monogram, PR (Petrus Rex). The breastplate is engraved on the left side with the cross, a Portuguese military order, of which the king was Grand Master.
