Ptolemaic Kings of Egypt Ptolemy I as Satrap of Alexander the Great (323-305 B.C.) Silver Tetradrachm Weight 15.67 g. Diameter 28 mm. Alexandria mint struck ca. 310-305 BC. Obverse: Head of Alexander the Great right, wearing elephant's skin headdress. Reverse: ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟY Athena Alkidemos advancing right, holding spear and shield; monogram, helmet and eagle in field. Toned beautiful coin with banker's mark on cheek. Superb portrait in high relief.
