The Pride of Dijon by William John Hennessy
The Pride of Dijon by William John Hennessy (1839-1920), in a Private Collection. A stunning, framed replica on artists' grade canvas. A native Irishman, Hennessy moved to the United States with his family when he was a young boy. He became a very popular artist among the poets, and he took to the Romantic and poetic style of painting, as displayed in this scene of two people conversing on a secluded deck, perhaps straining to love each other. Our authentic stretched canvas replica captures the original painting's texture, depth of color, and even its bold brushstrokes, which are applied by hand. Our gilded, solid wood, Baroque-style frame enhances the piece and draws in the eye.
