Description

Alexander the Great Macedonian Greek HELMET Movie Prop. Here is an opportunity to own a unique masterpiece. This is a reproduction of the helmet of Alexander the Great, as seen on the famous Alexander Sarcopahus now at the Archeological Museum, Istanbul. Thi shelme waa used in the movie “Alexander”, and worn by actor Colin Farrell who played the role of Alexander the Great. This is not the actual helmet worn in the movie by Farrell, it is a replica made from the same mold as the one made specifically for the movie and it is made by the same company which was commissioned to create the original worn by Farrell. These prop items were not cheaply made! The helmet is made of brass by the original manufacturor, it is of an excelent quality, and is of natural size, fully wearable! This item is extremely rare. In purchasing an item, you are buying a piece of both Ancient History and Hollywood History. This is a reproduction of the helmet of Alexander the Great helmet – it is of full natural size but has a smaller opening which means it can be worn either by a child or used for display only – please see listing H001 for a wearable Alexander helmet.

Made of bonded bronze (cold cast). "Cold-Cast" bronze (also referred to as "bonded bronze") is a product made from resin mixed/blended with 100% pure bronze powder to give it the appearance of the true bronze. It looks just as a "lost wax" bronze object does - both are bronzes. The cost for making a "lost wax" bronze statue is much greater than that of a "cold-cast" bronze statue. A sculpture made of "lost wax" bronze would be several times more expensive then made in cold cast bronze. Yet in either of the above materials, the casts (the final product made out of the mold) are made using the same rubber mold; which is taken from the original sculpture. Thus, the final result is exactly the same bronze sculpture, only made in a different bronze material. With the cold cast we still achieve the same bronze effect at much lower cost and thus is more affordable.
