The ancient Greek vases are remarkably beautiful artifacts. They come in all different kinds of shapes and sizes, and are adorned with beautiful paintings (some of them masterpieces or ancient art) created by the greatest masters of antiquity such as Euphronios and Exekias. In the pictures below you can see our ancient Greek vase reproduction process:
We carry hundreds of ancient Greek vases reproductions in our GREEK VASES section and strive to add more to our selection. However, there are so many in the museums around the world (Louvre, British Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Athens museum, etc.) that it is impossible to reproduce them all. Some 100,000 vases are recorded in the “Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum” or CVA, an international research project for ceramic documentation of the classical area (http://www.cvaonline.org/cva/projectpages/cva1.htm ). CVA is the first and oldest research project of the Union Académique Internationale of France. The first project meeting was organized by Edmond Pottier in Paris in 1919. The final decision was to publish a comprehensive catalogue of ancient Greek vases. Today the project covers a compendium of more than 100,000 vases located in collections of 26 participating countries.
If you would like reproduction of any of these vases, contact us. We well do our best to reproduce them in their original sizes (or the size of your choosing) and deliver to you a reborn masterpiece which you can proudly display in your home. All we need is a picture of the vase you’d like reproduced or a CVA. We can use any images to apply to our custom vases. It may be a drawing from one vase that you want to apply to another shape vase. Or you may want to use your own drawings to apply to a any Greek vase shape of your choice. In this example, customer sent us his own drawings and we drew them on the vases he had chosen:
In this example, the customer asked us to make a custom reproduction of a rare ancient Canosan vase from Magna Graecia in Italy. It is a red over white ground oinochoe which was originally made in the 4th-3rd century B.C.
Our ancient Greek vase reproductions are not fast-made kitsch replicas, nor are they cheaply made of substitute materials such as resin. We stick to the materials and methods used by ancient Greeks and use only top-quality ceramics and paints. Every piece is a stunning work of art, an amazing replica of an actual historic vessel from a museum or other collection created between 2,800-2,000 years ago. Every piece is individually hand thrown terracotta, hand-shaped, and hand-painted in exquisite detail and signed by a professional master reproduction artist which masters the art of the ancient Greek pottery. The whole process is made by hand like in ancient times.
We can make any types of ancient Greek vase: Red Figure, Black Figure, White Ground, Geometric, Minoan Cretan, Mycenaean Cycladic and Corinthian; or these vase shapes: Krater, Kylix, Dinos, Amphora, Lekythos, Hydria, Funeral, Loutroforos, Skyfos, Gamikos, Nestoris, Oinochoe, Juglet, Pelike, Stamnos, Pyxis, Kantharos, Fontaniera, Plate, Psykter, Bizoutieres, Arivallos, Kostida, Bomb, Olpe.
